Peer Review Process

At the Journal of Entrepreneurship and Global Economic Leadership (JEGEL), we uphold a rigorous and transparent double-blind peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality and original scholarly work. Our peer review system is designed to preserve the anonymity of both authors and reviewers throughout the evaluation process, thereby minimizing bias and promoting fair and objective assessments.

Commitment to Quality and Integrity

All manuscripts submitted to JEGEL undergo a strict initial screening by the editorial team to verify alignment with the journal's scope, adherence to submission guidelines, and overall academic integrity. Manuscripts that meet these basic criteria are then forwarded to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

Double-Blind Review Process

To maintain confidentiality:

  • Authors’ identities are concealed from reviewers.
  • Reviewers’ identities are kept anonymous from authors.
This double-blind process allows for a fair, impartial, and unbiased evaluation of the submitted research, focusing solely on the quality, originality, relevance, and scientific contribution of the work.

Reviewer Portal – Integrated Manuscript Tracking System

JEGEL provides a dedicated Reviewer Portal that is part of our robust Manuscript Tracking System (MTS). This digital infrastructure ensures seamless handling of manuscript assignments, communications, and feedback submissions.
Each invited reviewer receives personalized login credentials to securely access their dashboard. From here, they can:

  • View and download assigned manuscripts.
  • Submit detailed comments and recommendations.
  • Access deadlines and review history.
  • Communicate securely with the editorial team.
  • The portal streamlines the review workflow, reduces administrative burdens, and ensures timely and high-quality evaluations.

Editorial Decision-Making

Upon receiving all reviewer reports, the handling editor evaluates the recommendations and makes a final decision, which may include acceptance, minor/major revisions, or rejection. Authors are notified of the decision along with anonymized reviewer feedback to guide further improvements.

Acknowledging Reviewer Contributions

We recognize the invaluable contribution of peer reviewers in maintaining the academic standards of JEGEL. While reviewer identities remain anonymous, we offer annual acknowledgments and the option for reviewers to obtain a certificate of contribution.
